In a solemn Knighthood ceremony on 2 December 2011 as per invitation in the official Jakarta residence of THE HONORABLE DATUK KATURUNAN (SIR) HAJI SURYA DARMA ALI, BT., DRK, KGCMRSS (INDONESIA MINISTER OF RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS), was installed as Datuk Katurunan/ Hereditary Knight/ Baronet of the Royal Order of Kiram and as Datuk/ Knight Grand Commander of the Royal Order of Sulu & Sabah, shown here (4th from right) with HM Sultan Fuad A. Kiram I (5th from right) with members of the Royal visit and senior officials of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Indonesia.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs is a senior ministry of the Indonesian Government. This Knighthood Installation is an indication of mutual recognition, closer links and mutual cooperation and enduring friendship and solidarity between the Royal Hashemite Sultanate of Sulu & Sabah and the Republic of Indonesia.
Indonesia as the biggest Muslim nation in the world with over 245 million population showed it embraces and supports HM Sultan Fuad A. Kiram I as the Sultan of Sulu and Sabah and his policies for the benefits of the Tausugs, the Filipinos, the Indonesians and the Southeast Asian region.
This Royal visit to Indonesia was arranged by our Royal Cultural Ambassador to Indonesia and East Timor, The Honorable Datuk (Sir) Myr Agung Sidayu, Bt., DRK, KRSS.
