“Be it hereby duly known with the most gracious Royal assent and approbation, and after due deliberation by the Royal Council which unanimously agreed and recommended to His Majesty Sultan Muhammad Fuad Abdulla Kiram the First, The Sultan of Sulu & The Sultan of Sabah, Head of Islam & Head of Sultanate, The 35th Reigning Sultan – for the select personage to be granted the illustrious and honorable rank and title of Datuk/ Knight  (KRSS) of The Royal Order of Sulu & Sabah today.”

Citation reads:

Whereas, for exemplary achievements and personal contributions to better society and in bringing closer understanding between The Royal Hashemite Sultanate of Sulu & Sabah, Philippines and Indonesia, and whereas for the upliftment of closer understanding and friendship between the Tausugs, Filipinos, and Indonesian people along with his support to His Majesty Sultan Muhammad Fuad Abdulla Kiram the First, The Sultan of Sulu & The Sultan of Sabah, and therefore the Royal grantee of honors and distinction shall become Datuk/ Knight of the Royal Order of Sulu & Sabah with immediate effect as from today herein before mentioned namely:

The Honorable Datuk (Sir) Luiz Claudio Octaviano de Alvarenga,KRSS

Further, the Honorable Knight named above is appointed to the position of the Royal Cultural Representative or Ambassador to Brasil for a period of five (5) years from the date hereof, unless otherwise revoked, and shall continue after the expiry date by mutual consent between the Royal Crown of Sulu & Sabah and the Royal Cultural Ambassador.

The personal Knightly coat of arms of The Honorable Datuk (Sir) ) Luiz Claudio Octaviano de Alvarenga,KRSS is to be designed and marshaled by the Royal College of Arms for his sole and exclusive use as per Laws of Heraldry.

His Majesty Sultan Muhammad Fuad Abdulla Kiram the First thereafter ordered and issued a Royal Edict to be signed and sealed today at Royal Maimbung, Sulu this 25th day of February in the year 2012.
